DevOps for Project Practitioners
with Daniel Capetta, PMP

1 Day Course: 5/3/2018

SNEC-PMI is proud to partner with Dan Capetta to provide a class on DevOps in Farmington, CT. This event is an intermediate level course for those who wish to expand their skills to DevOps more effectively. The course will take place in the evening on Thursday: May 3 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at UConn, Munson Road, Room P4002, Farmington, CT. Check-in/Networking to start at 4:00 PM.

Target audience: Project managers, program managers, IT practitioners, IT managers, executive sponsors, functional managers, operations managers, project leaders, project team members, quality assurance practitioners and other key stakeholders.

Course Description:  During this course we will unify the Project Management and Technical disciplines that enable modern IT delivery at the speed of business.  We will review changes in how work is defined, the software creation and validation process, dynamic infrastructure, containers  and cloud technologies and how they impact modern IT delivery.

This course will cover how project management interacts with:

  • The definitions of work
  • Lean Process Maps and the fast flow of work
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Source Control Management
  • Everything as Code
  • Building Quality and Security into the process
  • The advantages of small batch changes to IT systems
  • Automated Testing for Functional and Non-Functional Requirements
  • Dynamic Infrastructure and Cloud

Included in the cost are instructional materials and coffee/water.

Speaker Bio:
Dan Capetta
Dan Capetta, MBA, PMP, SA

Dan is an Architecture Manager at Cigna in Bloomfield, CT.  Dan has over 16 years of experience in IT Systems and Project Management in both the public and private sectors.  Dan has spent his career working on automating IT solutions to simplify both the use and change of IT systems.  Most recently Dan has focused on accelerating the delivery of high value and high quality changes to complex IT systems through rapid and repeatable build, test, deployment and configuration processes.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Operations Management.  Dan also holds and Advanced Business Certificate in Project Management; all from the University of Connecticut.

 

 

 

 

 

REGISTRATION POLICY

Please register online to ensure an accurate count and reserve a spot at this event. Seating is limited, and no walk-ins will be allowed.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If the event is cancelled by SNEC-PMI and is not being rescheduled, the pre-registered participants will be notified via an email broadcast and a full refund will be processed. If the event is rescheduled and the pre-registered participant cannot attend the new date, SNEC-PMI will process a full refund.

For any individual cancellations, please notify the PM of the event. Any user requested cancellation prior to registration ending, will be refunded the amount paid, minus a 10% cancellation fee. SNEC-PMI does not provide refunds for any user requested cancellations after the registration deadline or for No-Shows.

WEATHER-RELATED CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event that inclement weather is forecast for the time of the event, a cancellation decision will be made prior to the scheduled event.

If the meeting is cancelled, registered participants will be notified of the cancellation via an email broadcast. We will also endeavor to get meeting cancellation notices broadcast by local media. Notification of the re-scheduled event or refund will also be communicated via an email broadcast.

If a decision is made to hold the meeting, our normal cancellation policy (above) will be in effect, i.e. there will be a 10% cancellation fee for any individual cancellation requests prior to the registration deadline. We do not refund any individual requests after the registration deadline or for no-shows.

RECORDING NOTICE

When you enter the SNEC-PMI event, you will be entering an area where photography, video and audio recording may occur. SNEC-PMI takes photographs and/or makes audio and/or video recordings of people involved in chapter activities and/or events. SNEC-PMI staff may use such photographs or audio/visual recordings to recall activities or participants and may use them in SNEC-PMI's publications and/or advertising materials to let others know of our event. In addition, local news organizations may hear of our activities or events and SNEC-PMI may allow them to record our events for news reporting on special interest features.

By entering the SNEC-PMI event premises, you consent to: photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for live streaming, promotional purposes, advertising, inclusion on web sites, and/or any other purpose by SNEC-PMI.
