Mental Toughness for Project Managers
with Thomas M. Marler, PMP

Project management is vitally important not only to the US, but to the global economy. Project Managers, while not celebrated like pilots, lawyers, or doctors, are indispensable in every industry where a product or service is offered. Today’s business environment calls for Project Managers to not only interact down the organizational hierarchy, but laterally to diverse teams and up the hierarchy to the C-Suite. Unfortunately, while the technical skills are important, many Project Managers lack the necessary soft business skills that are needed to work effectively with senior management, teams, and clients. Tomorrow’s Project Managers must have first-rate coping or mental toughness skills if they are going to be effective leaders, add value to an organization strategic goals, and overcome larger and more complex project challenges. These mental toughness skills include: active listening, critical thinking, decisiveness, emotional intelligence, self-talk, and approval addiction.

  1. What are the major challenges faced by Project Managers today?
  2. What kinds of soft skills are valuable to be successful in a Project Management role?

Pre-registration is required. Join us virtually, and be ready to participate!
