SNEC Members Share Expertise and Inspire Future Project Leaders

by Chris Zack, PMP, PMI-ACP, DASM

SNEC-PMI members recently brought their leadership and mentoring spirit to the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business, where they participated in a dynamic “speed coaching” event designed to connect project management professionals with students exploring career paths.
More than twenty SNEC-PMI volunteers spent the evening guiding one-on-one conversations with students eager to learn about the realities of project management across industries. Each round offered our members the chance to share stories from the field, offer career insights, and demonstrate the value of PMI’s professional community in action.

For many, it was an opportunity to pay it forward—to help the next generation of project professionals build confidence and clarity about their future. And for our chapter, it was another example of how mentorship deepens engagement, strengthens our profession, and builds lasting connections beyond the workplace.

Special thanks go to the University of Hartford's Barney School of Business and the SNEC-PMI Networking committee for coordinating the event, and to all the SNEC-PMI mentors who generously volunteered their time and expertise.
Stay tuned for future opportunities to share your knowledge and make an impact—because every conversation can spark a career.
